篠ノ井線・大糸線・松本電鉄 上高地線 松本駅から北東へ1.4km、松本の歓楽街「裏町」にあるはしご横丁の北東隅の壁に、銘板が設置された。市道1145号。

令和5年(2023) 11月にはお披露目会が催された。

松本市内が発祥地だということはわかっていたが、これまでとくに何の表示もなかった。

The Birthplace of the Suzuki Method

終戦直後の1946年。音楽を愛する松本の人々と、音楽を通じた幼児への全人教育を目指していた鈴木鎮一（1898-1998）により、才能教育運動（スズキ・メソード）がスタートしました。
当時、この地にあった建物を借り「松本音楽院」の看板を掲げたのが、スズキ・メソードの原点です。
「どの子も育つ育て方ひとつ」の理念のもと、音楽に限らず様々な能力を育てるこの教育法は日本国内に留まらず全世界で評価され、2023年現在、世界74の国と地域で40万人以上が学んでおり、演奏家だけでなく各分野で活躍する人材を輩出し続けています。

In 1946, shortly afer the end of World War II, with the support from music-loving citizens of Matsumoto, Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998) founded "Talent Education,". This was a movement aimed at providing a holistic education for young children which later came to be known as the "Suzuki Method."
The origina school was in a rented building at this location displaying the sign "Matsumoto Ongakuin" (Matsumoto Music Academy).
This method based on Suzuki's philosophy that "Every Child Can be Educated," has not only been recognized in Japan, but also worldwide to nurture various abilities in addition to music.
As of 2023, over 400,000 people in 74 countries and regions had studied using the Suzuki philosophy, and it continues to produce fine musicians as well as individuals who excel in other fields.
